4 years since the application of the GDPR – 25th of May 2022
25th of May 2022 marks the fourth anniversary of the direct application in Romania and in the other states of the European Union of the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).
On the occasion of celebrating the application of this European normative act, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing is organising a series of actions aimed at raising the awareness of the general public regarding the new rules for ensuring the protection of personal data and the specific rights the individuals benefit from.
Thus, on the 25th of May 2022 at 11:00, at the premises of our institution, a debate will take place with the participation of representative associations and professional unions from specific fields of activity. This event shall address in an interactive manner aspects related to the developments in the effective application of the new rules on personal data protection, in particular on the data protection officer, impact assessment, observance of the rights of data subjects, ensuring data security and the notification of the personal data breaches.
Also, to mark this event, a message of public interest (promotion video/clip) regarding the main aspects regulated by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 is broadcasted during May and June 2022 on public transportation with the support of Societatea de Transport București STB SA.
