PRESS RELEASE
In February 2009, following the Training Center for the Consular Employees within the Ministry of Foreign Affaires, the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing held a training course in the data protection field for the consular employees.
During discussions, issues concerning the proper application of the legal provisions regarding the observance of the right to personal, family and private life and also the protection of personal data were presented. In the same time, practical issues met in the daily activity of the participants were analysed and clarified.
The meeting was registered as a success in the information campaign started by the supervisory authority in the view of Romania's accession to the Schengen area.
Taking into account the difficulties encountered by the consular employees in order to fulfil the obligations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a data controller, the authority has honoured a new invitation to sustain another training course during March.
