Events regarding the application of GDPR
On the 31st of January 2019, the National Supervisory Authority held a working meeting with RENAR on the application of the specific provisions on the accreditation of certification bodies in application of Law no. 190/2018.
On the 1st of February 2019, the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority participated at the workshop organized by the Expert Forum Association in Iasi. This event dedicated, inter alia, to identifying and clarifying specific issues arising from the application of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 at the level of associations and foundations, was addressed to non-governmental controllers. On this occasion, the obligations incumbent on controller to comply with the processing rules laid down in Regulation (EU) 2016/679, as well as the rights of the data subjects in relations with NGOs, were highlighted.
In this context, the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority brought to the attention of the participants, within the specific panel, aspects related to the implications of respecting the rights of the data subjects, to the accountability of the controller and processor, to data protection officer, to data mapping and impact assessment, notification of data protection breaches and insurance the data security, the sanctioning regime.
On the 26th of March 2019, a meeting with a law firm, dealing with data processing in the context of employment, also in light of the provisions of Law no. 190/2018, was held at the premises of the National Supervisory Authority.
On the 27th of March 2019, the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing participated in the debates organised by the European Institute of Romania in partnership with Euractiv Network on the topic “Personal data protection in labour context”.
On the 27th of March 2019 a meeting with the CNSAS on the application of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 in the specific activity was held at the premises of the National Supervisory Authority.
On the 12th of April 2019, the National Supervisory Authority will hold a meeting to discuss issues related to the incidence of Regulation (EU) 679/2016 in the human resources domain, to which AmCham members will attend.
On the 17th of April 2019, an event on data processing by associations and foundations will take place in Timisoara, with the participation of the representatives of the National Supervisory Authority.
